And while all are welcome, my heart is to encourage women over 50 deal with setbacks that feel a lot more pressing after 50 like layoffs, menopause and tests of our faith. Probably my one of the things that blindsided me the most after my 6th layoff @ 54 and bring led to go into business full-time was “why now Lord? I’m older, tired and ready to start winding down.” But God is showing me that He still has so much more in store for me in later life and how He’s giving me the strength to do everything He’s calling me to do at this stage. He’s showing me gifts and talents I never knew I had at my big old age of 57 (a month shy of 58) but it’s also been a tremendous test of my faith. But you have to be stretched in order to grow. This has been an overwhelming journey so please be patient while I grow and exceed my own expectations by the Grace of God. In Haggai 2:9 God shares His Desire for our latter years to be greater than our former years so I believe this is all a part of the process. I’m living this journey while encouraging others on it which is a different kind of experience. But He promised me in Psalms 1 that everything I put my hand to will prosper and prosper it will! If you’ve been laid off, blindsided by life, or just feel “behind” for your age, this one’s for you. Your setback is NOT your story’s ending — it’s the plot twist God already saw coming. He’s not done with you yet. 💛 Here are 10 ways to start your comeback right now (no perfect plan needed): 1️⃣ Tell the truth about where you are 📝 No sugarcoating, no shame. Write down where you really are financially, emotionally, and career-wise. Clarity beats confusion every time. 👉 And remember: God can’t heal what we keep pretending is “fine.” “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted…” (Psalm 34:18) 2️⃣ Separate your WORTH from your WORK 👑 A layoff, divorce, empty nest, or bad boss can shake your confidence — but it doesn’t change your value. Your title changed. You didn’t. 👉 Your identity is not in a job description; it’s in the fact that you’re fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). 3️⃣ Stop asking “Why me?” and start asking “What now, Lord?” 🙋‍♀️ You may never get a satisfying answer to why it happened. But “Lord, what can we build from here?” puts you back in the driver’s seat with Him as your GPS. 👉 “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:6) 4️⃣ Audit your circle 👀✂️ Some people only know how to handle the “old you.” Limit access to anyone who drains you, doubts you, or mocks your dreams. Your comeback needs a different level of support. 👉 God will sometimes remove people you were trying to keep. That’s protection, not punishment. 5️⃣ Turn your lived experience into lessons 📖 You’ve survived layoffs, caregiving, grief, health scares, raising kids, rebuilding… That’s not random. Start capturing your stories, skills and lessons in a journal, notes app, or voice memos. Those are future assets. 👉 Nothing you’ve been through is wasted. “He works all things together for good…” (Romans 8:28) 6️⃣ Build one new non-negotiable habit 🌱 Walk 10–20 minutes, read 10 pages, post 1 piece of content, study 1 lesson, apply for 1 opportunity. Tiny habits stack into massive momentum.

Anybody else feel like giving up this year but literally don’t know how to give up or quit? I did. That’s faith and our God-given survival instincts. We have them for a reason.
