Did you know that animals experience scent very differently than we do?
What smells pleasant to us can feel overwhelming to them. That's why one of the most important rules when introducing essential oils is to let your animal choose.
When we share our homes with animals (or children), it's important to consider their heightened sensitivities. Essential oils should always be used thoughtfully and according to their intended purpose. Some oils are best applied topically, while others may be used aromatically. Every oil is different, and selection should be based on the individual need while carefully following the label directions and safety guidelines.
One simple way to begin is by observing your animal's response to a new scent. Some may show curiosity and interest, while others may choose to walk away. Both responses provide valuable information.
Our animals are constantly communicating with us—we just need to pay attention.
💬 Have you ever used aromatherapy with your pet?
If so, what seemed to be their favourite scent or essential oil?
What did you notice about their response?
