Moving into Radical self ownership of my own goals
For a long time, I didn’t realize how much abandonment issues, imposter syndrome, and the lack of emotional male role models affected my body image. Growing up, I didn’t see men who were openly emotional or took care of their feelings in healthy ways, without numbing them with alcohol or staying glued to TV shows. Instead, many of my relatives were out of shape, quick to make excuses like "Why would I exercise if I’m not getting paid?" and relaxed into unhealthy habits.
There’s also this idea that caring about your body and appearance is vain, which only added to my struggles. All of this built up, and I’ve finally recognized it’s time to face these body image issues. I’m ready to deal with them now, after being unaware for so long.
Its alot to process, I have been reading
JR Mcgregors ebooks filling in the missing spaces in my identity as I realised how often I havent felt whole, worthy or ok with my perception of things at time.
Any one has any advice on how to process these emotions let me know below
thanks for reading
