The story behind this before and after is very special. I have been doing her mother's and sister's hair for some time, but this young girl did not feel it was the right moment to transform her own hair yet. Forcing a change or trying to convince a client to do something they are not ready for completely breaks the connection. The right moment arrived naturally. She sat in my chair of her own free will, ready for the transformation, and the final result was pure joy. I feel very honoured to have earned this trust. Our work starts long before the scissors. These days we have access to so much information. Videos, courses, new techniques, new tools… and sometimes so much information can actually make us question which route we should take. But over time, I think we all develop our own little habits behind the chair—sometimes without even realising it. One of mine is using my fingers first to stretch and guide the hair before I introduce the tools I need. Honestly, I don’t even remember when I started doing this! 😄 But I know why I do it. I don’t want to put unnecessary tension on the hair if I don’t need to. It’s become part of the way I work naturally. And I think that’s where we start developing our own signature as professionals. Learn from others. Try different techniques. Stay curious . But you don’t have to do something exactly the way someone else does it. Understand your intention, understand the hair, and find what works for you.
