International Women’s Day
Today is International Women’s Day, let’s take a moment to celebrate all the women in this community who show up with courage, curiosity, and creativity.
So many of us were taught to keep our ideas “small” or “sensible.” And yet here you are making art, trying new things, getting messy with paint and paper, telling stories with colour and texture, and letting yourself play. That is powerful.
To the women who are:
- Sneaking in 10 minutes of creativity between everything else you do
- Coming back to art later in life
- Learning to see yourselves as “real” artists
- Sharing your work even when your voice shakes
I see you. You are exactly who this creative world needs.
Art has always been a place where women could whisper their truths, build their own worlds, and invite others in. Every collage you make, every character you invent, every wobbly line you love a little more each time…it all adds up to a bigger story about women taking up space in joyful, colourful ways.
