Starting + Assessment

Hello - I almost feel like I should reintroduce myself. I haven't been very active at all. It seems like I'm getting back to this at just the right time as things are still getting under way. So, just for a quick background - I started learning about personal development in the mid-90's. I started learning about coaching in 1999-2000. I got certified as a coach in 2014. And then...life fell out from underneath me in 2015. I lost my wife to cancer in February. I was forced out of my house in June (we we're renting and the owner was forced to sell due to the rising cost of insurance - so we had to move out so they could sell it). So, I ended up moving from FL to NC. A month later I lost my job (it was a work at home job that required a certain Internet speed and the Internet company lied to us and said they covered our address).

It turned out they stopped serving the area 3 miles down the road and I was left with satellite for Internet which did not meet my job's requirements - and so they let me go. I spent 9 months searching for a full-time job in rural (costal tourist areas) NC - couldn't even land an interview. And that was just the fun part. I've been rebuilding my life since then. I've had one health issue after another come up (still dealing with those - but making progress).

But, my introduction to David was when I found the documentary he worked on (The Secret) and then through the teachers on that show, I found out about Happy Pocket Full of Money and David's other work. I joined his course program probably sometime in 2015 or 2016. And I've been studying his courses bit by bit over that time. No I'm working to build the coaching company that I've been trying to build for 10+ years now.

I just finished the Masterclass in the Start Here module. I can't say enough about it. I realized two things during that masterclass. One, there was so much in there that I've been on the edge of or knew about but hadn't named the path or the process. So much gold in that masterclass. Please, if you're new, start with the Start Here module and go through it. It starts off as introductory -- but once you get into the masterclass -- you will see a real path that very few people discover. The second thing - I realized I'm much further along in my journey as a coach than I realized.

That leads me to the point of this post. Because of all that I've been through, my coordinates on the map (from the masterclass) is literally 1, 1. The business is in startup and I have not followed an actual meditation path for years. So, in that sense I feel like I'm starting at square 1. Yes, I've got a business degree and a coaching cert. Yes, I have studied the major icons (Zig Ziglar, Napoleon Hill, Brian Tracy, and 50 others). Yes, I've started programs (and stopped, and restarted). So, you would think I'd be much further on the levels. I feel like I have some advantages -- I know a ton of stuff. I've cataloged and curated a ton of stuff. I'm building my own thing based on my experience and understanding. But, I truly have had to start from scratch and I want to be real about that. So, why does it feel weird to be "much further ahead" and yet actually be at 1, 1 on the journey?
