Birthdays
Hi. Hope everyone's ok on the group.
On the eve of my 55th birthday, I just wanted to share a memory of birthdays past.
I was lucky to have grown up with all four of my grandparents alive.
On my birthday, my friends, sister, and the rest of my family would all wish me Happy Birthday.
My grandfather, on my dad's side however, would just shake my hand and say ' Congratulations '.
Year after year, just ' Congratulations ' .
One year, I asked him why he didn't say to me 'Happy Birthday'.
He replied. ' Because not everyone makes it to this age '.
Celebrate every day, not just birthdays.
