Welcome. Your First Step Starts With "One" Word.
Hey, I'm Todd Thornton, and I am so glad you're here. Ministry looks different for everyone. Whether you're on staff, volunteering, or just trying to make a difference, AI can help you do it better. Three things I want you to know right up front. 1) Don't just lurk. Post (1) one word in the comments. An AI tool you use, something you want to accomplish, a hidden talent. Anything. I will personally respond to every single one with my best idea for how I can help. If I'm wrong, the egg is on my face and some responses might be hilarious. 2) This is a "public" community. Everything here is visible, searchable, and shareable, even to non-members. That's on purpose. We want people to find this content. But if that's not for you, no hard feelings at all. 3) This is a link-free thread. Leave the URLs out and bring the real you. We want your thoughts, your questions, and your experience, not your bookmarks. If you are not a member you won't be able to comment or track completion in courses, but if you find something you like, just grab the link and share it freely. Posts, course pages, anything. We believe in full transparency. This is just who we are. If you're still in, let's take it one step at a time. Step one is simple. Drop only (1) ONE word in the comments below and let's see how creative Todd can get with his response.

I built something "LETTERS" -Your name, drawn from scripture.
Friends, I've been building an app I'd love your help testing. It's called The Letters. Give it a name and it builds a short, scripture-rooted word of encouragement from the letters of that name, for your own walk, as a gift for someone you're discipling, or as a memorial for someone who has died. The verses are real scripture, and you can save it as a PDF, cards, or text. Upfront on cost: Most all my creative apps now use the most capable AI models, which are also the priciest to run, so the final version will be on a paid tier to cover that. But during development I want everyone to use it freely. What I need most right now is troubleshooting. Please try it on different devices and both paths (encouragement and memorial) and tell me what breaks or feels off. A single sentence is plenty if that's the time you have. When you drop a comment in this thread, it helps me most if you mention your device and browser, what you were doing, and a screenshot if you can grab one. Thank you for helping me find the rough edges. Link: The Letters · Scripture Written for One Heart

15,000 Baptisms. One Church.
A note to our ministry family before you read this. I shared the article below because the story behind it has been sitting on my heart, and I want us to sit with it together. Hillvue did not reach 15,000 people because of a clever program. They reached them because ordinary believers refused to stay quiet, year after year, for thirty-five years. That is the part I cannot get past. The fruit came from faithful people and a holy expectation, not from resources. So here is what I have been praying about, and I want to put it in front of you. Some of us may have thirty-five years ahead of us, and some of us may have five or ten. But every one of us has the next season, and we are standing at the start of it. And for the first time, we have a tool in our hands that those before us never had. Used wrongly, AI is just noise. But used in a biblical way, submitted to the Spirit and never set above Him, it could become to our generation what the printing press was to the Reformation, a way for ordinary people to carry the unchanging gospel further and faster than they ever could alone. Picture it with me. Imagine every believer in this room able to answer a friend's hard question about the faith at midnight, gently and truthfully, instead of going silent. Imagine reaching people in their own language, following up with every new believer so not one of them slips through the cracks, and freeing our teachers from busywork so they can do what only a human shepherd can do, which is love people face to face. AI will never be born again. It will never weep with the grieving or hold a hand at a hospital bed. It cannot replace a single one of us, and it must never try. But it can hand the ordinary believer more time, more reach, and fewer excuses for staying silent. Now run that forward, however many years the Lord gives you, whether it is five or thirty-five. If we start today, faithfully and humbly, what might He do through a people who paired the oldest message in the world with the newest tool, and who expected Him to save?

Sharing Your Wins: How to Post in the Wins Category
Wins do not have to be elaborate. Sometimes a win is just getting back on track. Here is what I mean. This week I decided to post a long article on Facebook, something I had not done in several months. Last year I wrote a few articles on a revival in Eastern Kentucky, and one of them went about as viral as a religious post about revival can go. It had 543 shares at last count. But somewhere along the way I got frustrated with Facebook and all the negativity that lives there, so I stepped back. This week I pushed past that and posted about a local church accomplishment. It already has more than 100 shares. That is a lot of people who have been exposed to something good, and it only happened because I got back in the saddle. That is exactly what the Wins category is for. It is a place to celebrate what God is doing in and through your ministry, whether that is a long-awaited breakthrough or a small moment that reminded you why you started. Posting a win is more than good news. It encourages the whole Ministry Unlocked community, and it reminds all of us that the work we do matters. So what counts as a win? More than you might think. Maybe a student finally opened up during small group. Maybe a volunteer stepped into leadership. It could be a salvation, a baptism, a fundraising goal you hit, or a program that finally came together after weeks of planning. Wins are not measured by size. If it moved your ministry forward or touched someone's life, it belongs here. A few simple things make your win land well. Start with what happened, then share why it mattered to you. Specifics help. Instead of saying you had a great event, tell us what made it great and who it reached. If you learned something along the way, share that too, because your insight might be exactly what another leader needs to hear. Photos and short videos are always welcome when you have them. One more thing worth saying. Do not wait for something dramatic before you post. Some of the most meaningful wins are the quiet ones. When I share consistently, I build a record of faithfulness I can look back on, and I give others permission to celebrate their own everyday victories.

Support for you is coming to Ministry Unlocked
Ministry asks a lot of you. Whether you lead a congregation, build an online community, create content for people you may never meet, or serve quietly behind the scenes, you are usually the one others turn to in their hardest moments. You carry the weight of the people you serve, often while carrying your own. More than 76% of clergy say someone has come to them for help with mental health, and that pressure shows up in every kind of ministry. What gets talked about less is how lonely the work can be, whether in a sanctuary or behind a screen. Among pastors who have considered stepping away, 43% name loneliness and isolation as a reason. Digital ministry can deepen that, since the work often happens alone, even when it reaches thousands. None of this is weakness or a lack of calling. It is simply what happens in a vocation that gives so much of itself to others. So here is the news: mental health resources are coming to Ministry Unlocked, with more support to follow over time. You will find a lot of AI in this community, and we love what it makes possible. These resources are different by design. This is human, grounded support for the person behind the ministry. Whatever shape your ministry takes, our hope is simple. The place you have poured into so many others should also pour back into you. More soon. For now, know that you are seen, and that what you carry matters to us.
