One of my biggest advices is to set realistic goals. Aiming high is good but aiming too high is setting yourself up for disappointment which leads to demotivation which can lead to stopping altogether.
I believe every Muslim should aim to memorise and can memorise 1 juz of the Quran, most likely juz 30 due to the short surahs it contains and how often they are recited.
When I began my journey, I didn't even intend to memorise the entire Quran. I just though let's memorise a few smaller Surah's and see how it goes.
Then as you memorise more you grow in confidence. Set small milestones eg. Memorise surah Alaa or memorise surah Naba or memorise surah Mulk.
Then as you hit these targets, set more. Stretch further.
Before you know it you will have memorised 1 juz, 3 juz, 5 juz and more in sha Allah.
