Someone in the AARP Group on FB suggested reading The 36 Hour Day. It's a comprehensive guide to navigating all things dealing with Alzheimer's and other Dementias. I'm only on Chapter 5 but I've learned a lot so far!
- I had no idea there were so many types of dementia.
- Even tho Pops case is "early onset" because of his age, it can happen even younger than 62 and can be caused by so many different things.
- Pops still values his agency and autonomy - it looks different now, and a lot of the advice in the book is about how to empower them without losing your hair in the process 😅
That 3rd one is a doozy 🤣 but lmk in the comments what other things you've learned in your journey.
