Hello my little Gang of Nasties 😈😜🦠
Just wanted to drop this here for anyone who’s in the last month (or maybe 2-3 months out) grind before their ASCP exam. I took my exam August 6th, 2016 and passed on the first try, so if you’re feeling overwhelmed, let us all take a deep breath!
Here’s exactly what I did in the final 4 weeks:
🧪 DAILY: 50 Practice Questions
Every single day, no excuses. I did at least 50 practice questions on LabCE.
I didn’t just click through either. I would do them in review mode and for the ones I got incorrect, I would go through every single answer choice and figure out WHY I chose the incorrect answer.
This is a form of studying the theory! (Ditch your notebooks, ditch all the flashcards…unless you find them life-changing) Just focus on doing the practice questions and using THOSE as your study guide.
📚 WEEKLY: 1 Full-Length Exam
Each week, I set aside a day (usually a Friday) to do a full-length ASCP-style exam.
I took it under test conditions (quiet room, timed, no distractions).
Then I spent the next day reviewing:
- Weakest subjects
- Patterns in what tripped me up
- Random facts or values I kept forgetting
🔁 Repetition = Retention
LabCE was my best friend. I didn’t just do questions… I HAMMERED THEM HOES OUT, and drilled my brain until certain topics finally stuck.
Repetition built my confidence. Review made me sharp.
🙏🏽 Final Thoughts
You DO NOT NEED to study everything, but you DO need to be consistent.
Don’t just run through the questions… TRAIN for this test.
Questions, review, repeat. That’s the formula.
You’ve got this.
