God, delivered a message through the Prophet Hosea, stating that people are destroyed because they lack knowledge of God and His law.
Hosea 4:6, "lack of knowledge" refers to a disregard for God's commandments, leading to spiritual and physical ruin. The people had rejected God's law and turned to idols, resulting in their downfall. Yeshua emphasized the importance of the knowledge of God's will and the teachings of the New Testament, giving two new commandments that sum up the law and the prophets, meaning it is the foundation of the Old Testament Law and the Prophets: "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind" and "You shall love your neighbor as yourself" Matthew 22:36-40. The two commandments are not separate but are intertwined. Loving God leads to loving others, and loving others reflects our love for God.
