Hey there friends, I will be finishing up the Winter Basics and wanted to ask if anyone had a specific topic they would like to talk about. Avalanche basics will be released soon and I was thinking about maybe doing an in person course for beginner snowshoeing? What do you all think?

Happy solstice! To go along with our first lesson, today, I’m going to head out into negative temperatures, properly layered and ready to hike. I checked the weather forecast. It’s gonna be clear skies with the low of -5 with wind gusts up to 21 mph which will change the feel of the temperature drastically. It’s important to be prepared for these types of temperatures as one can go hypothermic and frostbite can settle in rather quickly if not clothed properly.
