I've added this to the "Tips for Beginners" course. ---------------------------- You'll often see the instructions "ch4 & join to form a ring" or "ch4 & join with sl st in first ch to form a ring". This method is one of the most common ways to start a crochet motif ... it's very secure and the best way to start motifs that will be used for blankets and clothes because, if done correctly, they won't come undone. Unfortunately, it's also something that new students can often find tricky. It's not always appropriate to replace this kind of starting ring with a magic circle so I've devised these tips to help making this ring a little easier.
