STEP 3: Dispute Inaccurate or Outdated Entries

STEP 4: Negotiate and Settle Any Outstanding Balances

STEP 5: Request Reinvestigation After Payment or Settlement

STEP 6: Follow Up (Within 30 Days)
🔹 Monitor the Outcome:
- Both ChexSystems and EWS must respond to disputes within 30 days.
- If entries are removed: ✅ Success.
- If still reporting: ➡️ You can file a complaint (see Step 7).
STEP 7: File a Complaint (If Needed)
🔹 If Data Is Incorrect or Not Removed:
- This adds pressure on banks and ChexSystems/EWS to resolve disputes.
STEP 8: Apply for Second-Chance Bank Accounts
🔹 Options Include:
- Chime, Varo, SoFi, or local credit unions with second-chance programs
- Once ChexSystems/EWS is cleared or if bank doesn’t use them
- Why:
- Establishes new banking history while clearing the old one.
