Practice?
Wondering how long and how often everyone practices their particular instrument? I try for 30 to 60 minutes a day, concentrating on pieces I’m currently learning and playing things I really enjoy. I probably should devote more time to scales and appeggios etc. I like to change things up so I don’t get bored and if I don’t really like something I find it’s best to leave it for someone else to enjoy.
🎵 Introducing Ask Mat
Learning music is so much easier when you have someone to ask. That’s why I’m introducing a new weekly feature inside our community… 🎵 Ask Mat Every Friday, I’ll answer your music questions. Whether you’re learning piano, guitar, bass, ukulele, drums, singing, or any other instrument, you’re welcome to join in. You can post: 🎹 Videos of your playing 🎵 Recordings you’re working on 📖 Reading music questions 🎼 Chord charts and lead sheets 👂 Ear training questions 🎵 Music theory 🎹 The Easy Key Method Or anything else that’s helping—or frustrating—you on your musical journey. Simply leave your question, video, recording or photo in the comments below throughout the week. Then, every Friday, I’ll personally jump in and answer as many questions as I can. No question is too simple. One of the wonderful things about this community is that we’re all learning together. Feel free to help each other in the comments as well. You never know—your question might be exactly what someone else needed to hear. I’m looking forward to seeing what you’re working on. Let’s make some music! 🎶
🎉 New Community Space: Your Musical Journey 🎵
I’m excited to introduce a brand new space in our school called Your Musical Journey. One of the greatest joys of music is sharing it with others. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the very first time or you’ve been making music for decades, this is a place to celebrate your progress, encourage one another, and enjoy the journey together. This isn’t about perfection. It’s about courage. It’s about curiosity. It’s about taking one small step after another. I’d love to see this become a place where we can all share: 🎸 Practice sessions 🎹 New songs 🎤 Performances 🎼 Original compositions 🎧 Recordings 💡 Musical discoveries 🎉 Little wins along the way No achievement is too small. Sometimes simply picking up your instrument after a busy week is a victory worth celebrating. I’ve created this space because I believe music is meant to be shared, and I can’t wait to watch this community inspire one another. Come and introduce yourself whenever you’re ready—I look forward to seeing your musical journey unfold. https://www.skool.com/mat-creedon-school-of-music-4248/classroom/c9543222?md=98c3c56d56f5410fa90c5d33d036a688 Happy music making! — Mat 🎵
