A FEW BTS THOUGHTS FROM THE LAST YT VIDEO
I figured I'd share some of my things you guys that were on my mind with from my last YT video A lot of it came down to SFX and music: - I used to put SFX on every single graphic and animation, but more recently I've started to think that those can be helpful to draw attention to the effect, but I also think that they can be distracting. So, on this video I used them a lot less. I was thinking that the SFX should match the feel of a video. This is a tutorial and doesn't really need all of the engagement-based editing and sound design. A few here and there where they make sense but I didn't want to overuse them in an attempt to have the sound design match the feel of the video - From a music perspective, I was in a similar mindset. I used to just add music at about -32 db and have it on for the entire tutorial-style video, but I have been thinking that might be distracting and also make people numb to the music as opposed to using it to make certain points hit harder or just have it more noticeable where I want it to be to overall help the feel of the video I wanted to share that in hopes that you guys get something from that. It is working for me right now and I was happy with how those things turned out. The music and sound design of my tutorial videos is something that I'm really working on this year
