Help for a maintenance trim

Hey guys, I have been thinking of getting a maintenance cut done as it's been 3-4 months like my hair is having a lot of bulk in back without much texture so getting things layered and removing the bulk a bit but what are your suggestions (should I wait more ?)

And

I am growing it form the fade and then quiff and then front volume slickback -> so due to the shorter sides my hair continuously parts anywhere it wants sometimes middle sometimes 60/40 etc. and fall on the sides -> so need advice for that also and first time trying to go to a salon rather than a barber for long hair.
