📚 Small Achievement This Month: Finished Reading Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman
One of my goals this year is to become a better version of myself not just financially, but mentally and emotionally as well.
This month, I completed Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman, and honestly, it changed the way I think about success.
One of the biggest lessons from the book was that IQ alone doesn't determine success. The ability to understand and manage your emotions, stay calm under pressure, and build strong relationships often matters even more.
💡 My Biggest Takeaways:
• Self-awareness is a superpower. You can't improve what you don't understand.
• Emotions are not the enemy. Learning to manage them is the real skill.
• People who control their impulses make better long-term decisions.
• Empathy helps you understand others, build trust, and create stronger relationships.
• Success is not just about knowledge, it's about how you respond when things don't go your way.
One lesson that really stayed with me:
When emotions take over, logic takes a back seat.
The more I reflected on this, the more I realized how many mistakes come from reacting emotionally instead of responding thoughtfully.
As freelancers, business owners, and professionals, technical skills help us get opportunities, but emotional intelligence helps us keep them.
Alhamdulillah, finishing this book feels like a small win for the month and a step toward becoming a better person, professional, and Muslim.
