The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:“Time has returned to its original state as it was the day Allah created the heavens and the earth. The year is twelve months, of which four are sacred: three consecutive months , Dhul-Qa‘dah, Dhul-Hijjah, and Muharram and Rajab of Mudar, which comes between Jumada and Shaban.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari 4662, Sahih Muslim 1679)
Explanation :
This Hadith clearly establishes Rajab as one of the four sacred months chosen by Allah. Sacred months hold a special status in Islam:
- Sins committed in them are more serious
- Good deeds are more rewarding
- ظلم (oppression) is especially forbidden
It is important to note that no authentic Hadith proves that specific fasting, prayers, or celebrations are uniquely prescribed for Rajab. Its virtue lies in its sanctity, not in invented rituals.
