Translation (English):
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Whoever does not thank people has not thanked Allah.”
(Sunan Abi Dawood – Hasan)
Detailed Explanation / Lesson:
This hadith teaches us the importance of gratitude in Islam. Gratitude is not only directed to Allah ﷻ but also shown to the people around us. If someone helps us, we should thank them sincerely. Ignoring people’s kindness shows arrogance and ingratitude.
When we thank people, we are indirectly thanking Allah, because He is the One who placed those helpers in our lives. The Prophet ﷺ would openly acknowledge even the smallest acts of kindness, which strengthened love and unity among the companions.
Dua:
“O Allah, make me among those who are grateful to You and to those who do good to me.”
