Data Analytics Project 13 : Power BI Netflix Report
🚀Data Analytics Project 13 : Power BI Netflix Report
I recently completed a comprehensive Power BI dashboard that analyzes the global Netflix content catalog from 1925 to 2020. The objective of this project was to understand how Netflix’s library has evolved over time by exploring content growth, content types, ratings, countries, and genre trends through interactive visuals.
📌 Project Scale & Key Metrics
The dashboard highlights the impressive size of Netflix’s catalog, including 6,169 total titles, 555 locations, and 462 genres, spanning nearly a century of content history. It provides an executive-level overview of how diverse and globally distributed Netflix’s offerings have become.
📊 Key Insights from the Dashboard
Movies dominate the platform, accounting for 68.42% of all titles, while TV shows make up 31.58%. Mature-rated content leads the catalog, with TV-MA and TV-14 together representing nearly half of all titles. The United States is the largest content contributor, followed by India and Japan, and genres like Documentaries, Stand-Up Comedy, and Dramas emerge as top performers.
🛠️ Tools, Data & Process
This project was built using Power BI Desktop, with extensive data cleaning and transformation in Power Query and analytical measures created using DAX. The dataset was sourced from publicly available Netflix catalog data, structured to support accurate cross-filtering and insightful storytelling.
