Scales were not invented so teachers could torture students.
They're not finger exercises.
They're not speed drills.
A scale is simply a collection of notes that naturally work well together because they all relate to the same "home."
Think of a city map.
A map doesn't tell you where you have to go.
It simply shows you where you can go.
That's exactly what a scale does.
The notes aren't there to limit your creativity.
They're there to help you make musical decisions.
Without a map, you're wandering.
With a map, you're exploring.
Today's Challenge:
Choose any major scale you already know.
Instead of playing it quickly...
Play each note slowly.
Ask yourself:
Does this note feel settled?
Does it feel tense?
Does it feel like it wants to move?
Don't think.
Just listen.
Share one note that surprised you.
