Improvements?
There is always time for improvement, though at times it may not seem like it. What is one thing/area of your life that you would like to improve? This could be anything in any field.

Music Theory?
I have a question for the teachers or potential students. I have been developing a music theory course that people can go through at their own pace. I usually teach something like this in a live class either online or in person. My question is, how do you make this topic more interesting in a self paced course?

@Chris Lawrence Thanks! Great suggestions. I have been developing bite sized chunks so as to not overwhelm anyone. Right now its a mix of informational reading with visuals. At the end I did a tie it all together type video with screen sharing. To me, it just feels kind of dry, but it is the basics of notation so....Lol.

@Chris Lawrence That is true! 😆
Actively Listening
Deep listening turns music from background noise into a full-body experience. It connects you to the performer, the writer, the moment, and even the community around you. It transforms passive enjoyment into active appreciation. 💡 Try This Today: Choose one song—any genre, any era. Listen once as a musician. Listen again as a teacher. Listen again as someone who simply loves music. If you simply just love music and aren't a musician or teacher, actively listen to the song and try and pick out each part. Try to separate the words, then move to the music and listen for the chord changes, the beat, and focus on what that song is trying to make you feel. What’s one song that completely changes for you when you really listen to it—and what made you hear it differently?

For me the song is "Bigger Life" by Cherry Poppin Daddies. Not only is the song about wanting more from life and breaking free from where you are, it also has an awesome score. The song is heavy into the swing and focuses on the lower voices of the band to give it a gnarly "dirty" swing sound.
📣Podcast Session #1 📣
So today @Monica Flores and myself had the first podcast planning session to figure out topics and ways to do this thing and make it happen. It was great to get on a call with a fellow Skooler and teacher! We came up with a few ideas for topics, means of recording, style of the podcast. We tried to record it to share with everyone, but it only recorded 11 seconds of the whole session. Ooops. But we wanted to survey members of the community for topic ideas and for anyone with perspective and some knowledge on the topics to come onto the podcast with us. It'll be a structured informal style where its a discussion type and recorded through lives on school. For the first one we would like to do a Podcast on Online Teaching and everything that has to do with hosting online students. From tech setups to different tools people are using. Would anyone be interested in helping us out with that topic? Or know anyone who would be willing to join us? Leave some comments below.

@Chris Lawrence Awesome! We will have to figure out good times. I think we were looking to record an actual podcast real soon. I'm pretty sure our first topic is going to be teaching tech, what kinds of tools are good and what we use for teaching online.
