Learning Tarot at Your Own Pace
When learning tarot, it's important to work at your own pace. It's easy to just memorize the meanings of the cards and apply them to the said reading; however, what really matters the most are the feelings that are invoked based on the group of cards pulled. When you're finished placing all the cards down, close your eyes and think about the emotions that arise. Is it happiness, sadness, confusion, or plain curiosity? Dwell on it for a while especially when you are feeling an array of emotions. Sitting with them can help not only set the tone of the reading but to help you understand what you need to know within your spirit. Normally I'd suggest having your questions ready before you shuffle your cards because it will help them give you the answers you seek. What we need to remember about tarot is that it's like a mirror, it will reflect back to you on what is happening. What's the beautiful yet sometimes frustrating part? It can give you a different perspective on how to look at your situation and questions more deeply. This is why feeling your emotions are important. Tarot can help you fill in the blank of what you NEED to know compared to what you WANT to know. I do have to caution you to keep an open mind in terms of expectations of what you want to know first since these exercises are to help you learn tarot. Does that make sense?
