The One Question Every BJJ Gym Owner Should Ask Before Spending Another Dollar on Marketing
There are a thousand things you can do to grow your jiu-jitsu gym. Paid ads, billboards, social media, referral programs, Google reviews, a new logo, a new website. And almost none of them matter until you answer one question. In this episode of the Grapple Growth Show, I break down the single biggest reason most BJJ and MMA gym owners feel stuck β€” and what to actually do about it. You're going to learn: β†’ Why "doing more" is the wrong instruction when you're overwhelmed β†’ The one question that cuts through the noise of marketing advice β†’ Why "near me" search is the highest-intent audience your gym will ever have access to β†’ The leaky bucket problem that's quietly killing your marketing spend β†’ Why the website and Google profile are the foundation everything else runs on β†’ How to get the time back that you opened the gym to have in the first place This is the first thesis episode of the Grapple Growth Show. If you run a BJJ or MMA gym, this is the video that puts the rest of your marketing decisions in order. ──────────────────────────── πŸ₯‹ FREE BJJ GYM AUDIT Want to know if your website and Google profile are actually the constraint in your business? I'll audit it for free, tell you exactly what's working, what's broken, and what it would take to fix it. No pitch on the call if there's nothing to fix. β†’ https://grapplegrowth.com/ ──────────────────────────── ABOUT GRAPPLE GROWTH Grapple Growth is a smart website agency built specifically for BJJ and MMA gym owners. We handle the digital foundation β€” websites, local SEO, Google Business Profile optimization, review automation, missed-call text-back, and free trial booking systems β€” so gym owners can stop drowning in the business side and get back to teaching, training, and competing. ──────────────────────────── ABOUT TANNER I'm Tanner Sullivant. Brown belt, military veteran, founder of Grapple Growth. I built this agency because I'm one of you β€” a practitioner who wanted to keep training the way I want to train, and who saw too many gym owners losing leads they never knew they had.

Why I Started a Marketing Agency So I Could Train Jiu Jitsu Full Time
This is the first episode of "The Grapple Growth Show" The goal with this show is to post weekly. I think it would be fun and interesting to share ideas and discussions around Jiu Jitsu and Business. Those two topics are all I think about and the main two things I've put the most time into I started my company "Grapple Growth" so that after the military I could pursue Jiu Jitsu full time and become the best athlete I can be. I started when I was 14 years old and I'm now 24 years old. Whatever this series becomes I just want to enjoy the process. I'll be pushing towards progress every episode. The main thing I want at first is to get momentum and start posting consistently. If you like this series, this channel, my journey, subscribing would mean the world to me! πŸ‘‹ Welcome to the Grapple Growth Community
Glad to have you here. This space is for BJJ and MMA gym owners who are serious about building a smarter, stronger online presence β€” the kind that actually fills your mats instead of just sitting there looking pretty. It's also for anyone in the Jiu Jitsu world who knows a gym owner that could use this. Coaches, competitors, longtime students, affiliates, gear brands β€” if you've got a coach, training partner, or academy you care about, you're welcome here too. Bring them in, share what you learn, and help us raise the standard for how BJJ gyms show up online. Whether you're running one location, scaling to multiple, or just want to make sure your home gym thrives β€” the goal is the same: more of the right students, less time wasted on marketing that doesn't work, and systems that run whether you're on the mat or off it. πŸ‘‰Please click here to start reading through the classroom section The first lesson Includes The "BJJ Gym Digital Foundation Checklist" β€” a 60-point self-audit across the 6 systems every gym needs dialed in (website, SEO, Google Business Profile, visibility, lead capture, and business management). Run through it honestly. If you don't know what something is, just leave it unchecked β€” we can talk about it. You'll walk away knowing exactly where your gym stands and what to fix first. - Message Me With Any Questions here: Tanner You can always shoot me a direct message if you've got a question, want feedback, or just want to talk shop Excited to have you in here. Let's build something real. β€” Tanner Brown Belt BJJ Β· Founder, Grapple Growth

What Is The Most Frustrating Part About Running a Physical Business?
Would love to hear your thoughts as my business is all online. I would think that dealing with other local competitors would be the most frustrating since it may feel like a constant competition. That's my thought from talking with many local business owners though. What about you?
