"Boniface's Vacation" is a Soviet animated film about a circus lion who goes to Africa for a vacation, dreaming of sunshine, bananas, and a little fish. However, upon arriving at his grandmother's house, he encounters children's love for his circus tricks. His vacation turns into a constant performance for a young audience.
Boniface invents new tricks, forgetting his original plans, and only when the steamship horn sounds does he decide to return home. As a farewell, he releases a golden fish that had accidentally gotten into his hands into the sea, symbolizing the importance of dedication to oneβs work.
The film emphasizes that a true artist is always at work and that inspiration cannot be interrupted.
