"Core meaning"?
I recently got obssessed with the idea of core meaning - the core idea that holds across the different meanings of a given vocabulary item. Let's take an example of "land" and study three meanings: 1. The plane landed safely at the airport after a lonf flight. 2. She finally landed the job after several interviews. 3. The explanation landed well with the students - they said it made sense. What's the core idea for "land"? Give me your hot take, please:)
