My child already speaks Igbo very well…
But here’s the truth — she didn’t “learn” it in the traditional way.
I simply made sure she never forgot it.
Even while living here in Europe, I held on to our language at home — in our conversations, our laughter, our everyday moments. And somehow… it stayed. It grew. It became hers.
Now? She’s my biggest motivator.
She’s behind the camera
She listens carefully
She corrects me when I miss a tone
She keeps me on track…
And in her quiet way, she reminds me why this matters so much.
This platform… this journey…
It’s not just about learning Igbo.
It’s about identity.
It’s about roots.
It’s about making sure our children never lose what belongs to them.
