Yesterday, Friday, March 6th, I had the honor once again of working with the members of Club Adapt, and I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible work this organization is doing in our community. For those who may not know, Club Adapt creates opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to participate in meaningful activities that support health, fitness, independence, and community connection. Their mission is simple but powerful: to ensure every member has access to experiences that build confidence, joy, and a sense of belonging.
Yesterday’s session took place at Dinoto’s Action Karate Mt. Laurel, our karate school here in town, and I want to express my gratitude for the opportunity to host these sessions in our dojo. It means a great deal to open the doors of our martial arts home so that this wonderful group can come together to move, learn, and grow. And let me tell you something… when you see the members of Club Adapt filling the room, bringing their energy, their courage, and their enthusiasm into the dojo, you feel it immediately.
You feel the joy.
You feel the encouragement.
You feel the spirit of people supporting one another.
Yesterday’s session was filled with movement, focus, and a whole lot of smiles. We worked together through martial arts exercises designed to build coordination, awareness, balance, and confidence. But more importantly, we created an environment of inclusivity, fun, and excitement where everyone could participate at their own level and celebrate their progress.
That, to me, is Living Strong in action.
It is not about perfection.
It is about participation.
It is about showing up and moving forward together.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Lynne Beamer and the entire Club Adapt team. The love, care, and dedication they show their members is something truly special. They make sure every person feels welcomed, supported, and valued — and that makes all the difference in the world.
It is an absolute honor for me to play a small role in this work.
I would also like to extend my appreciation to Ms. , one of our adult black belts here at Dinoto’s Action Karate Mt. Laurel, who assisted me during this session. Her support, patience, and leadership on the mat helped create the welcoming and encouraging environment that made the experience so special for everyone involved. And I also want to give a special shout-out to my son CJ, my Head of Media, who captured this fantastic photo from the session. Moments like this are what I call defining moments — the kind that remind us why we do the work we do.
When people come together with open hearts, supportive hands, and a spirit of encouragement…
beautiful things happen.
Thank you again to Club Adapt for allowing me to be part of your journey.
That’s what Living Strong looks like.
