Well chemo is not a picnic that's for sure. you need to get blood work done first but in my case I had to have ultra sounds done first then see my oncologist to determine the dose of chemo that day. Mine was only once a month so it was light unlike many others who harsher doses. Sitting in a cancer centre watching many others was not my highlight of the day. It was when i walked out the front to door to go home. Step 1 for me was ultra sound and of course the technician wanted to see the baby too and asked if she could. I said yes cause I wanted to see. Step 2, walk over to the cancer centre check in and wait to be called. Step 3, Get blood work done and wait again Step 4, See the oncologist, I read the print out from the ultrasound. Easy read, I do have some medical terminology from my course I took. Easy to understand. Step 4, Go over to chemo section and wait for chair or be seated asap. A nurse would bring over my bag of chemo with a needle and insert, then the drip would happen. Chemo went in cold and so a warming blanket was placed on my arm to keep the chemo warm so my blood vein would accept it. Weird I know that's what happened. Step 5, remove needles and blanket sit for a bit and then go home. Finally when you get home I had a baby to care for, dinner was already cooked as my in laws where there looking after my baby. The next day I was sick for a few hours, tired from little sleep. Laying there thinking what if.... well what if was that I MADE IT THROUGH all four months of chemo with little, to no reaction from the treatments. Third treatment I was told the first two worked. I was very happy to hear that.....
