There is absolutely no shame in letting yourself get swept up by the storm.
As a lighthouse, you stand there watching the tempest rage. Often, it feels as though your own light is blurring, tangling, and dissolving into the crashing waves. And it’s not just a passing thought—in those moments, you are absolutely convinced that you are losing yourself to the chaos.
When the storm takes over my own body, I have a three-step anchor that I recommend to anyone, because it is exactly what I do myself:
- Patience: I take two or three steps back from the storm. I give myself permission to just pause and observe.
- Breath: I begin to take deep breaths. With every single exhale, my intention isn't necessarily to force the storm to quiet down, but to breathe more and more light directly into those turbulent waves.
- Prayer: I pray to the Source of Love. As a light, I am a part of that Source. So, as this single lighthouse, I pray to the One who created light itself, asking for a recharge, for that divine power to replenish me.
And then, I lay my head down to sleep.
But if sleep won't come, I simply sit there in the midst of the storm, holding onto one comforting truth: I am not the only lighthouse in this world, I am a part of al the Infinite Light.
Intention for Today
"As I observe and feel the storm within me, I allow the light of love to take care of me, and I let it in."
