Reset Day Saturday
Let's Talk About Reset Days 🌿
I've learned something powerful through my work with nervous systems and trauma healing: your body needs permission to pause.
We live in a culture that glorifies the grind. That celebrates "powering through" and "pushing past limits."
But here's what neuroscience tells us: your nervous system isn't designed to run at full capacity 24/7.
When you're constantly in "go mode," your body stays in sympathetic activation - that fight-or-flight state. Over time, this leads to burnout, dysregulation, and your system basically screaming for relief.
A reset day isn't lazy. It's strategic.
It's you telling your nervous system: "You're safe. We can rest now." It's creating space for your parasympathetic system to do its job - to restore, repair, and recalibrate.
For me, Saturdays are sacred. It's when I give myself permission to move slower, think less about productivity, and just be. Sometimes that's gentle movement. Sometimes it's sitting with my tea longer than usual. Sometimes it's doing absolutely nothing.
Your reset might look different than mine. And that's exactly how it should be.
So here's my question for you: When was the last time you gave yourself a real reset? Not just a day off where you filled it with errands and obligations, but a true pause?
Your nervous system is waiting for your permission. πŸ’š
