I want to share a personal reflection to illustrate the impact of trauma. During my childhood, I was bullied for being overweight. I didn’t fight back, and I developed emotional eating as a coping mechanism. While these may seem like typical childhood struggles, the long-term effects on my growing personality were significant.

- My career choices were shaped by fear and insecurity.
- My relationships were coloured by self-doubt and mistrust.
Each aspect of my life—my decisions, my reactions, my goals—was influenced by unresolved trauma. It took time, education, and self-awareness to understand how these childhood experiences had shaped the adult I became.
But here’s the key question: How do you relate to this in your life?
