Survival
Everyone has their own way of survival. For most of us, its always the hard way, always a struggle, always involves tears and heartaches, all we need is to sleep on it. Then we wake up to another day. Ready again to face whatever it is the day has to offer

This year's Mother's day was different since 2018
I really think that I have to share this. Last Sunday, May 10 2026, a little girl dropped a rose infront of my door. I knew cause I saw her through my door cam. I dont know her. I saw she was with her mother who stood slightly away but instructing her to leave the rose by the door. I really appreciate people like them. People who may not have much financially but still made an effort to make a senior happy on occasions like this. They know that I live alone. Since I moved in to this apartment building in 2018, I really did not get much visitors. Nobody seems to care for me. Nobody seems interested checking in on me That rose still stands in a mug wit water in my dining room table, slightly withered but it makes me smile everytime I looked at it. At my age, I dont ask for anything more, just simple things, just like this rose. I have 3 daughters, I have family. But they have their own lives now. They cant spare an hour to visit me. They cant spare 30 minutes to call me, talk to me, see how Im doing, ask if I needed anything. So you see, I am not really alone. Just abandoned by the very people that I devoted my whole life. Belated Happy Mother's Day to all.

Survival
Feeling of thankfulness, after one person survived a disaster in one's life. Housing crisis is the current trend in Canada. Homelessness is another trend. And everyone is affected by it. And when you are affected and you do not have no one to turn to for help, for support, you feel like the whole world is upon your shoulder. Thank God there are still ways to resolve crisis like this. And prayer is the most powerful of all

Homelessness
Being asked to leave your home is devastating for people. And it’s because that person has chosen not to pay his rent it’s because his income fixed or not doesn’t make any room for an increased rent. Most seniors these days are suffering because of the high cost of living and rent and medication and hospitalization. And nobody can do anything about it. There are people who have extra money in their pockets but choose to enjoy the leisure of life. These seniors have no one to turn to for help or for additional resources or family. Most seniors have been abandoned by their families because they see them as burden and liability. Seniors are usually dehumanized or disrespected. They are treated with very little respect and seen as some discarded humans. When will that change? When will the government takes a step to help seniors who are in financial distress Hope everyone is doing great better than the seniors around us

Kindness
Last January 29th, someone showed me kindness in the most simplest way. And I would like to share it. As we all know that a few winterstorm passed and had made the roads and parking lots heavily covered by snow and ice. My car was unrecognizable because of that. I was running out of my routine medications so I have to go pick up my meds, no matter what. Standing in front of my car, I cant imagine how I can even shovel the ice around and over it. Then a gentleman, who lives in same building as i am, stood beside me, also looking at my car. He asked, "your car?" I answered, " yes. " And to top it all, my car battery has died, due to the cold. This gentleman asked, " are you going somewhere?" I told him that I was supposed to pick up my meds. He said, " I cant help you with shoveling but I can drive you to get your meds." He is 70 years old with a bad back. And that was the kindness I received that day. From a stranger. When I offered to pay for his gas, at least, he refused. He drove me to my pharmacy and waited for me and drove me back ( since we live in the same building ). I seldom get kindness from strangers. This is one memorable kindness that I shall never forget.
