What’s your publishing budget??
If I said $5k would you think that’s crazy? It’s really not. You can actually hit that number pretty quickly. Let’s break it down:
100,000 Word Manuscript
• Edits cost about $.04/word (already you’re at $4,000!)
• Cover design $500 (you can get it for less, but it can also be way more!)
• Formatting/book design $50-200 (depending…)
• Author proof copies and ARC copies $$
Children’s Picture Book
• Edits cost about $250-400
• Illustrations $2500-$10,000 (picture books - graphic novels can be significantly more. Estimate about $100/picture.)
• Formatting/book design $50-200 (depending…)
• Author proof copies and ARC copies $$
