Who is Jan Marie? Jan Marie is a registered nurse, educator, entrepreneur, and founder of a training program built for nurses who want to step into the legal world in a powerful, strategic, behind-the-scenes role. But this community was not created just to talk about another nurse side hustle or recycle the same information that has been floating around for years. I need to lovingly say something that might sting a little: Waiting until “my kids go back to school” to start your legal forensic nurse career is one of the worst business decisions you can make if your goal is to earn money this year. And I know why nurses say it. You’re busy. You’re tired. The kids are home. Schedules are weird. You’re thinking, “I’ll have more time in the fall.” But here’s what you may not understand yet: This field has seasons. We call two of the biggest ones Spring Frenzy and Fall Frenzy because attorneys tend to be most active during those seasons. The court system has a rhythm. Cases move. Deadlines hit. Attorneys start pushing files forward. And when attorneys are active, that is when they are far more likely to need help with medical records, chronologies, case reviews, and nursing insight. So if you wait until fall to start learning, building, practicing, and preparing, you are not positioning yourself to make money in the fall. You are starting from behind. By the time you learn the skill, build your work samples, understand how to communicate with attorneys, start marketing, follow up, and begin building relationships, you may have missed a huge window of opportunity. And then what happens? The holidays come. People travel. Cases get pushed. Firms slow down. Everyone is waiting for the new year. That is what we call the winter slump. So instead of being ready for Fall Frenzy, you may not truly start seeing traction until spring of 2027, (8-9 months from now) 😳 That is a massive delay. This is why starting now matters. When you work with us, you are not just watching videos alone and hoping you figure it out. We are with you while you are learning, creating your work product, communicating with attorneys, following up, and working through new case opportunities. You are building while you are supported. And that is a huge difference. I was just talking with Dena yesterday, and she said how grateful she was that she started when she did instead of waiting until fall. She is already generating attorney interest, and that matters because those relationships can help carry a brand-new business through the slower seasons.
