Observe- When a family member is going through a medical crisis, they always come to me to ask for my help. I fully immerse myself in their needs and ignore my own.
Witness- When this happens, my anxiety is at its highest, I lose sleep, and I feel an internal heaviness.
Name and Reclaim- I will find balance when it comes to helping my family, even if that means taking a step back. I have to allow them to take ownership of their health and well-being. I no longer want to be a crutch. I will put myself first and do more mental and physical check-ins when occurrences like this happen because I deserve it.
