On Being Quixotic
We all strive, don't we? Even if, on occasion, it feels like there isn't so much fuel in the tank. Cervantes nailed it in 'Don Quixote'. (see illustration by https://www.etsy.com/nz/shop/ArtAtHomeDaVinci)
'Quixotic' describes the notion of Don Quixote on his worn-out nag 'tilting at windmills' - otherwise a valiant but foolish effort by an under-qualified under-powered and delusional old man to 'take on' a modern monstrosity.
So there's the context....
Personally I'm pretty drained and it's only the 2nd of January! But there's a legitimate reason for it. It's because I'm never really 'off the clock'. I wonder if you share that feeling?
I chose this with some deliberation and determination to be frank, made a promise to myself I'd engage in a ten-year project to develop a resource base and coaching 'skool' if you like.
However, I have zero training in marketing, the tech skills of a goldfish and am buoyed rather by wishful thinking than harsh reality. So I do qualify as a bit 'Quixotic'.
But frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn. I'm in this for the haul come what may.
If you have ever engaged in a Quixotic venture, I'd love to hear about it!
