In a nutshell, here's our story...
- Boyd (Founder & Principal) has lived aboard sailing boats for years in the Whitsundays, Queensland, and sailed extensively in Tahiti, Croatia, Thailand, Greece, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
- Holds commercial & recreational marine qualifications; lifelong boating experience.
- Started young: rode a tinny to school; left school at 15 to work on a prawn boat.
- Career includes marina work and Bareboat Charter Briefer (helping others learn boating).
- Earlier built a successful career in advertising, marketing, and corporate strategy.
- In 2015, diagnosed with serious melanoma; after recovery, returned to sea aboard his 50’ ketch Morningside.
- Now splits time between the Whitsundays and Phuket, Thailand.
Learn to Live Aboard (LTLA):
- A welcoming space for aspiring liveaboards and boating enthusiasts.
- Supports beginners, future charterers, and curious learners.
- Mission: build confidence, teach boating theory, and share real experience for safe, smooth, enjoyable life on the water.
