Hi everyone. I'll start. I'm Nick and I set up this group in August 2025 to help people get a foot in the door of careers in data. I've been working with SQL for around twenty years as a MI specialist, database developer, data warehouse developer and now I'm a data engineer. I have a particular career specialism in data warehouse design and development, and that includes 'ETL' processes which is 'extract, transform and load' and is the business of moving data from one place to another, and performing all sorts of cleaning and re-structuring on the way - and all that is done in SQL (plus some other tools sometimes). I live up north in the UK in a town called Bury, not too far from Manchester and for my sins I'm a fan of Bury Football Club.
