Be Kind
You may have heard this quotation by Richard Carlson, Ph.D., before, but I came across it again over the weekend and found it a good reminder of focusing on the things that are really important and longer lasting.
"Choose being kind over being right, and you'll be right every time."
This week, when we feel the choice between being right and being kind, let's remember to be kind. Kindness has a more powerful positive imprint in the hearts and minds of those we engage with, and those may be onlookers.
But it's not about impressing others; this is more about developing and maintaining a peaceful heart and mind.
Wanting to be right all the time can develop an undercurrent of resentment in others and a spirit of pride in us over time.
This does mean we become pushovers and never state our case when necessary. The skill is in learning to decipher when to step back and when kindness is the more effective method of action.
This week, as we go about our activities, let's keep this quote in mind and remember to choose kindness more often.
Have a fabulous week.
