Most engineers don't have a tool problem.
They have a knowledge problem.
Too many engineers think the next gadget, analyser, or expensive tool will make them better.
It won't.
The engineer who spends £0 on tools but improves their fault-finding skills every week will outperform the engineer who spends thousands but never studies.
The highest-paid engineers I know aren't always the best installers.
They're the best problem solvers.
They can walk into a property, diagnose the fault quickly, explain it clearly to the customer, and fix it efficiently.
That's a skill.
