Salary ranges can differ by $50K+ for people doing surprisingly similar AI work.
AI news is moving fast, and companies are increasingly looking for people with practical GenAI skills — which is changing what some roles can pay. Let’s use this thread to share what people are actually earning. Transparency gives you a better benchmark and more confidence when negotiating. If you prefer, post anonymously — no company or personal details needed. Post your role, your region and your range — anonymous is completely fine. What are you seeing?

A CS degree can be both “not required” and still quietly matter when you apply for an AI job in 2026.
Large companies may use degrees as an early screening filter, and for some candidates, visa/H-1B realities make formal education especially relevant. But portfolios, certifications, real AI projects, and strong experience are also helping career switchers get past the “no AI degree” problem. The bigger question is what happens before a recruiter or hiring manager ever sees your projects: Does a degree get you through the first filter? For someone coming from Salesforce, QA, data, support, or testing, the answer may depend heavily on the company and role. Does a CS degree still matter — yes, no, or only for the first job?

10 minutes is enough to turn a terrible prompt into a useful one.
1. Start with: “write something about marketing” and rewrite it using role, context, constraints, and output format. 2. Run the original prompt and your rewritten prompt in the same AI tool. 3. Compare the two outputs for relevance, detail, tone, and usefulness. 4. Paste back in the comments: your rewritten prompt + the original output + the improved output. 5. Post your rewritten prompt AND the output it gave you — what changed most?
