One of our own community Mommy members, Sasha, inboxed me about something she came across on social media.
There is a post going around where parents are saying:
"Teach your kids to behave because I am teaching mine witchcraft."
Insinuating that they will put a curse on other people's children.
I am not going to spend a lot of time on the trend itself because I do not give the enemy that much of my energy.
But I AM going to respond to it.
Because if there are parents out there openly declaring that they are equipping their children in darkness we have a responsibility to make sure our children are equipped in the light.
And not just equipped.
Confident in their authority as children of God.
We teach our children TO pray.
But a lot of us are still doing the heavy lifting FOR them.
And there is going to come a moment when we are not in the room.
When our child is at school, at a friend's house, in a situation we did not see coming and they need to know how to stand on their own.
They need to know that the authority of God does not live in mom's prayer.
It lives in THEM because He lives in them.
So today I want to give you four prayers to pray WITH your children. Not just over them. With them. So they learn the words. So they learn the posture. So they learn that they have just as much right to talk to God and stand in His authority as any adult in the room.
Print these. Post them. Pray them together tonight.
PRAYER 1: THE MORNING SHIELD
Pray this every morning before school or the start of the day
Father God thank You for this day. I ask You to put a hedge of protection around me today. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. No curse, no evil, no assignment of the enemy has power over my life because I belong to You. I am covered by the blood of Jesus. My mind is protected. My body is protected. My spirit is protected. Holy Spirit go before me today and let every place I go feel Your presence. I walk out of this house covered, armed, and confident in who I am. In Jesus name. Amen.
PRAYER 2: WHEN SOMETHING FEELS WRONG
Teach your child to pray this when they feel uneasy, afraid, or sense something is off
God I feel something right now that does not feel right and I do not fully understand it. But You do. I ask You to reveal anything that is not of You and remove it from my presence. I submit myself to You right now. I resist the enemy and I declare that he has no access to my mind, my emotions, or my spirit. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. I am not afraid because You are with me. In Jesus name. Amen.
PRAYER 3: BREAKING ASSIGNMENTS
For parents to pray WITH their children against spiritual attacks, curses, or dark influences
Father I come to You on behalf of myself and my family. We stand in the authority You have given us through Jesus Christ. Every assignment that has been sent against this family, every curse spoken in darkness, every arrow aimed at our peace, our joy, our purpose, and our future -- we cancel it right now in the name of Jesus. It has no legal right over us. We plead the blood of Jesus over our home, over our minds, over our children. We are not available to the enemy in any form. We are sealed, covered, and set apart by God. What He has placed on our lives no person, no practice, and no darkness can touch. In Jesus name. Amen.
PRAYER 4: EQUIPPING OUR CHILDREN IN THEIR AUTHORITY
Pray this over your child and then teach them to declare it for themselves
I am a child of God. That means I have authority in His name. I do not have to be afraid of darkness because the light of God lives inside of me. No curse can stick to me. No evil can follow me. No weapon formed against me will prosper because my Father said so. I know who I am. I know whose I am. And I walk in that every single day. Devil you have no power here. God does. And I choose Him. In Jesus name. Amen.
Thank you for bringing this to the community. This is exactly what this space is for. Parents take these prayers. Teach them to your children word by word. Let them pray them out loud until it becomes their own language.
Because the goal is not children who rely on mom to fight for them.
The goal is children who know how to stand.
Until next time, stay positive. 🧡
