What changed everything for me was learning that behavior is communication. The parenting skills I had weren't helping my son thrive, and they weren't helping me become the parent I wanted to be. When I stopped viewing behavior as something to control and started viewing it as something to understand, it changed not only my parenting, but the way I lead, teach, and care for children.
