This is one of the hardest things to get right as an athlete—and most get it wrong by relying on scale weight + feel, instead of performance markers.
Instead of mirror checking and "Am I eating too much or too little?”
Ask yourself:
1. Am I performing well?
- Energy in training?
- Explosiveness?
- Endurance?
- Strength?
2. Am I recovering well?
- Soreness decreasing?
- Injuries settling?
3. Is my weight trending where I want it to?
- Moving slowly toward the goal?
If weight is dropping as you want, but performance is dipping, then you're sacrificing one for the other and might need to up the eating. If Weight is steadily declining or rising as per your goals, and you find yourself performing better and recovering well...
There's the Sweet Spot!!
