The Beginning of My Story
By Wendy Marie Bridget Howe Besherse
My name is Wendy Marie Bridget Howe Besherse, and this is the story of my life—a journey filled with faith, family, challenges, blessings, and determination.
I grew up with a curious mind and a love of learning. Even as a young girl, I was fascinated by history, people, and the stories that shaped the world around me. Those interests would stay with me throughout my life and eventually become part of who I am.
As the years passed, I discovered that life is rarely a straight path. There were victories and disappointments, moments of joy and moments of heartbreak. Through it all, I learned that faith in God could carry me through even the hardest seasons.
Family became the center of my world. I embraced the role of wife, mother, and homeschool educator. Teaching my children at home was not always easy, but it allowed me to be present for the everyday moments that matter most. Each lesson taught, each challenge overcome, and each milestone reached became part of our family's story.
Living in Washington State, I built a life centered around home, faith, and service. Along the way, my faithful service dog, Snowy, became an important companion. Snowy was more than a dog—he was a source of comfort, support, and encouragement during difficult days.
I am also a creator and storyteller. Through projects such as Purple Sage Hill Ranch & Home School, Home First Income, and Just Wendy's Sports Corner, I found ways to share my passions with others. Whether talking about homeschooling, family life, budgeting, history, or sports, I discovered that every person has a story worth telling.
One of the greatest lessons of my life came through hardship. Health challenges reminded me that every day is a gift. After surviving a life-threatening cardiac event and receiving an implanted defibrillator, I gained a deeper appreciation for faith, family, and the preciousness of life itself. The experience changed me forever and strengthened my desire to help and encourage others.
This book is not the story of a perfect life. It is the story of a real life—a life marked by perseverance, faith, laughter, tears, and hope. It is the story of a woman who refused to give up when life became difficult.
As you turn these pages, I invite you to walk with me through the chapters of my life. My prayer is that somewhere within my story, you will find encouragement for your own.
Because every life has a story.
And this one is mine.
