At first I was not sure if I would make this one, until I remembered I have tobacco bitters. Instead of smoking the glass a simple rinse brought the aroma and flavours 💨
Even without the special treatment this is a great sipper especially if one lets it warm in the glass while holding it as one does with cognac. The tobacco and fruit aroma intermingle with a hint of baking spices.
The dense richness of the fruits coats the palate. There are dates, prunes and raisins, but also stone fruits 🍑, even hints of orchard fruits 🍐 🍎, barrel notes with sweet spiced Xmas pudding with hints of humidor. The finish pleasantly lingers for several minutes allowing to slowly enjoy this 😋
The tobacco contrasts the rest of the ingredients but even without it’s a wonderful slow warming sipper, especially once it gets to body temperature.
