The Magic of 15 Minutes
How many times have you avoided a task because you told yourself it would take too long?
What if you could shift that thought from dread to victory?
Yes—you can.
One simple way is by using the 15-minute rule.
Instead of focusing on the entire task, you break it into small, manageable time blocks.
Here's how it works:
Identify the task and estimate how long it might take.
Break that time into 15-minute segments.
Set a timer for 15 minutes and begin.
When the timer ends, take a short 10-minute break—rest, but don’t start another task.
Repeat until the task is complete.
Example:
Cleaning and organizing a junk drawer may take about 60 minutes. Instead of dreading the full hour, commit to just 15 minutes at a time.
Prepare a small bin for items to keep and a trash bag for what you no longer need.
Start your timer and focus only on that short window.
Before you know it, you’ll have momentum—and a finished project.
Remember:
“Small, consistent action leads to big victories. When we steward our time well, we honor God even in the simple tasks.”
